Founded in Bradford, in 1888. Melissa will draw on what is probably the best single collection of original Golden material discovered to date, and which had kept hidden away for more than a century. LIGHT IN EXTENSION

by Melissa Seims

Step into the world of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn at the height and the epicentre of the late-Victorian occult revival.

This book explores the previously hidden history of Bradford's Horus No.5, one of the first Golden Dawn temples. Drawing from the best single Golden Dawn archive discovered to date (the 'Scott Collection'), it unveils the fascinating story of the Horus Temple, with an insightful look into its history, key figures, temple paraphernalia and cultural significance.

In a rare blend of scholarship and storytelling, never-before seen images and texts are presented, challenging the current view of this most influential magical Order.

It solves several mysteries, while raising some of its own.

Horus No.5's legacy, kept in private hands for over 120 years, is a hugely significant and previously missing piece of the history of the Golden Dawn, which illuminates the occult and esoteric scene in turn-of-the-century West Yorkshire.

For magical connoisseurs and newcomers alike, the information in this book unearths the intrigue, tension and drama of this lesser-known, yet momentous, chapter of British magical history.

HERE BE MAGICK

by Melissa Seims

This compelling account of eccentricity and Witchcraft in the 1950s and 60s revolves around two principal characters: 'Rex Nemorensis' (Charles Cardell), son of an internationally famous Victorian stage magician, and Ray Howard, owner of the Head of Atho - a representation of the Horned God of the Witches reputedly over 2000-years-old.. From the luxury of his country estate, Cardell trod his own unique path of modern Witchcraft, the reality of which was e ectively put on trial in a High Court libel case brought against a major newspaper, following an article by two reporters who had hidden near Charles' sacred Grove. What they witnessed, would change Cardell's life forever. This book, based on new research, explores their fascinating lives and examines their writings and relationships with other witches including Gerald Gardner and Doreen Valiente. For the first time, the writings of the Coven of Atho are reproduced. They reveal its previously hidden gems and provide a workable form of Witchcraft blended with Druidic influences. The glistening strands of this story are woven into the larger history of the origins of modern Witchcraft in Britain. Here be Magick...
